British Gas Contact Number
There is no set British Gas contact number, as you have probably already found out there are many different numbers available depending on what it is you want to speak to British Gas about.
I have compiled a list of the most common British Gas contact numbers and when you should use them.

Emergency numbers:
0800 999 111 - If at any time you think you can smell gas or think you may have a gas leak, or if you think that any gas appliance may be leaking carbon monoxide then this is the number to call. It is the gas emergency services line and is free to call.
British Gas Contact Numbers
Account inquiries/ Customer Services: 0800 048 0202 - This number is for general inquiries about your gas and/or electric supply account
Pay As You Go (PAYG): 0800 048 0303 - Use this number for any inquiries you may have about your PAYG account, or if you have an issue with your meters/supply such as a faulty meter or supply cut off
You can also use the above British Gas contact number if you are moving home and would like to let them know.
Energy Saving Advice: 0800 072 8629 - British Gas are committed to helping all of their customers to become more energy efficient. If you would like advice on how you can use your energy more efficiently call this number.
Join British Gas: 0800 980 6005 - If you would like to switch from your current energy supplier to British Gas then you can use this number.
Gas/Electricity Theft: 0800 587 2737 - If you suspect gas or electric is being illegally taken from your property or any other property you can report this by calling this number.
